The LocalLit event for 2017 was wonderful and included something fascinating for everyone! With 25 authors who spoke about their books and their writing experiences, so many genres were showcased and explored! I came home with biographies, memoirs, a book on relationship building, a book on raising gorgeous roses, and all of the books I couldn't buy are available at San Jose Public Library. There were enriching panel discussions and enlightening background discussions about the authors, books and even writing process. I learned that there are resources that SJPL offers for writing development and self-publishing, such as Self-e and others the website. To the SJPL Librarians, Deborah Estreicher and Stacy Tomashevski, and SJSU Librarians, Peggy Cabrera and Toby Matoush, THANK YOU for bringing us an excellent author event and an afternoon, delightfully spent! I can't wait till next year!
I had a hard time finding the consultant - it was my first time to the location. but once we connected, it was exactly what I needed! Lot's of useful ideas, the right lingo and resources for me to get started on our brand refresh ideas. I will absolutely go again and recommend it to anyone I know who needs to talk to a professional creative without feeling like they are being pitched. Thumbs up!
I like the class, but the parking is an issue to me. First, there is no free parking near by. Second, the paid parking space is limited, if your class is at 12pm, there is no parking space available for you. I would suggest if we can move our class or other similar classes to a Free and plenty of parking space libraries. I believe it will draw more people to come to the classes. I know most of local libraries have lots of parking spaces and free.
