Evergreen Branch Library Book Club: No January meeting.

There will be no book club meeting in January.

Please plan to join the group discussion of Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery  on February 7th, 2018. We have a number of editions , including many paperback copies.
If you like reading the eBook, there is no waiting list or expiration date for the Total Boox downloadable book, but you can get it from other ebook vendors, such as EBSCO Host through our catalog as well.

Yes, you will find this book housed in the Children's section, but here is what one Goodreads adult reviewer wrote,"I don't often give books five stars and as I neared the end of this book, I gave some thought to how many stars this book deserved. I've read the Anne of Green Gables series once before - over twenty years ago. In spite of the amount of time that has elapsed, I clearly recall reading the last book in the series very slowly and thinking to myself, "I will be so sad to not be able to read about Anne anymore." When I picked up this book a few days ago to re-read it, I found within a few chapters that it was like seeing an old friend. Anne was even more delightful than I recalled, since I now have daughters who share her "scope for imagination," her penchant for large words and her zest for life. Reading about Anne's appreciation for life's loveliness made me ... long to live more in-the-moment myself."

Join us for a monthly meeting of the Evergreen Book Club.  Read and discuss different books each month.  Newcomers are always welcome.  For the March  2018 meeting, we invite you to read either of the Silicon Valley Reads 2018 selections:

This book group counts on each person locating a copy of the book to read before the meeting. You can place a hold online, or phone any library branch for help in placing a hold or locating a copy of a hardback, paperback, or electronic version.
Martin, I just see this comment now two years later! I am not sure why this feature wasn't obvious to me before.

Do we bring our own books to the meeting and discuss it or will there be someone in the library who will bring books for the group to read?
