FULL—Life Skills Academy: Self Defense (Woman's Session)

Life doesn’t come with an instruction manual.

Everything Action Movies Didn't Teach You About Self Defense is part of the Life Skills Academy, a program series designed by the library exclusively for you, the high school student planning on leaving it all behind for college or the work force.

Come to King Library on Saturday, March25, for a free three-hour class on the basics of personal safety and self defense.  Join our expert trainers from the Twilight Knights Renaissance Guild on the most important ways to protect yourself as you move out to college or your first job.  This session is for female students.

Space is limited, so please email teenhq@sjlibrary.org or call 408-808-2165 to sign up for the class. Please include your name, age and preferred contact information (phone number or email address) to be registered for the class.

Teens who attend seven workshops throughout the year will be recognized as "graduates" of the Life Skills Academy. The current 2017 Life Skills Academy schedule can be found here and will be updated as new workshops are confirmed. Workshops will take place once a month from January through October 2017.

Our Life Skills programs are built to target ages 14-19, but all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend.
