theCodeMatrix is a student-run program that aims to introduce 4th - 7th grades students to explore computer programming and its relationship to art and design during this summer.
theCodeMatrix stirves to prepare kids for a future in which we frequently interact with machines and a world where the arts and humanities are increasingly intersecting with technology. High school level student-volunteers teach kids to think like programmers through games, activities and projects with an emphasis on creativity, communication, collaboration, and community. What sets theCodeMatrix apart is the curriculum which highlights the intersections between technology and the humanities and encourages a by youth for youth approach.
